CAMPOSCURO: The Path of the Black Earth

Camposcuro: The Path of the Black Earth was originally made as a multichannel video installation, filmed in black and white across the fields and forests of Switzerland and Germany. It follows one anonymous woman, her face always turned away from the camera, as she walks, runs, and rides a bicycle through open landscapes, watched with the same calm, constant attention as a surveillance camera. She carries a bag and moves without ever arriving, a figure who could be crossing any border, searching for any home. This new single-channel version brings the original multi-screen experience into one continuous seven-minute view, and was presented at MAD Arts in Dania Beach, Florida.

Made possible with support from the Broward County Cultural Division.
