CONCRETE FAÇADE
Curatorial Project: Photography and Architecture
Dot FiftyOne Gallery, Miami, FL
April 6 - May 30, 2025

Concrete Façade is a photographic project conceived by Edison Peñafiel that explores the complex interplay of form, memory, and politics through the lens of architecture. Featuring works by Anastasia Samoylova (Russia/US), Linet Sánchez (Cuba), Gian Paolo Minelli (Swi/Arg), Amanda Linares (Cuba/US), Mitzi Falcón (Mex), and Peñafiel (Ecu/US) himself, the exhibition investigates façades as both masks and mirrors—structures that conceal deeper truths while shaping perception.

Not a curatorial endeavor in the traditional sense, but an artist’s spatial and conceptual composition using the works of fellow artists as elements in a shared vocabulary, Concrete Façade is part of a broader artistic inquiry that extends across multiple mediums. The exhibition is accompanied by an essay by Aldeide Delgado and presented with the support of Dot FiftyOne Gallery, ArtSeen365, and MAD Arts.
